There are around 190,000 registered charities in England and Wales that are overseen by volunteers – known as charitable trustees – who receive no payment for their services.
Most people can become a charitable trustee if they are over 18. Being a trustee not only provides you with an opportunity to give something back, but can also teach you new skills and open up a wider network of contacts.
Trustees are responsible in law for controlling the management and administration of a charity, and they collectively provide a hugely beneficial service to society and local communities.Last Updated
